The government has ordered the immediate closure of Lime Cay and Maiden Cay off the coast of Kingston following reports of breaches of COVID-19 protocols over the holiday weekend.
In a statement on Monday, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) said the cays will remain closed until January 15.
This decicion follows action taken on the weekend by the Marine Police to shut down yacht parties being held on the cays.
Twenty boat operators were warned for prosecution arising from the illegal parties.
One video which was circulated online showed yacht raves and flagrant breaches of COVID-19 control protocols.
ODPEM says the Coast Guard and the Marine Police will continue to monitor the cays and vigorously enforce orders under the Disaster Risk Management Act.
