New Orleans rampage suspect acted alone, says FBI

The FBI says it now believes no-one else was involved in the deadly New Orleans attack on New Year's Day, other than Shamsud-Din Jabbar.

Earlier, authorities believed multiple people were involved in the incident, which killed 14 and left at least 35 wounded after a pick-up truck drove into busy crowds.

Jabbar was killed in a shoot-out with police during the attack.

The FBI says Jabbar posted videos online proclaiming his allegiance to the Islamic State group, and that he was "100% inspired by ISIS".

According to officials, surveillance footage showed Jabbar placing two improvised explosive devices in the area.

The FBI also says there is currently "no definitive link" with the explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas hours later.

The victims include an aspiring nurse and a mother of a four-year-old.
