Govt to introduce electronic “one-card” system for all transactions

Guyana is to introduce a data management system to consolidate all transactions, including banking, social benefits, identification, licensing, and taxes, onto one electronic card.

President Irfaan Ali says the electronic platform will, among other things, support conducting business and advance a modern governance architecture.

He says the concept, which has been successfully implemented in India and the United Arab Emirates, will soon be introduced through partnerships with international companies.
