Grenada: Parliament approves tougher penalties for visitors who fail to declare firearms

Parliament in Grenada has given the green light to legislation amending the existing fines and imprisonment for visitors who fail to declare a firearm to a Customs officer.
 
The fine has moved to EC$50 thousand, up from $100.
 
Anyone convicted of a crime under the legislation could also face the possibility of spending six months in jail, up from three months.
 
The amended legislation will take effect on August 1.
