Grenada probing reports passports being sold illegally

Grenadian police have launched an investigation into reports that passports are being sold illegally.

Acting Police Commissioner Edvin Martin told reporters that the allegations warrant a probe.

International Business Minister Nickolas Steele has denied the reports.

Grenada is among several Caribbean islands that promote the Citizenship by Investment Programme through which foreign investors, who make a substantial financial contribution to their socio-economic development, are granted citizenship.
