Guyana: Demerara Distillers turns to milk production

One of Guyana's largest rum distillers is going into milk production.

On Friday, Demerara Distillers and the government signed an agreement that would see the establishment of a US$15m milk plant.

Demerara's decision comes following positive results from a feasibility study the company conducted.

Chairman of DDL Komal Samaroo told Stabroek News yesterday that their company was working on a specific location.

He said the government has approved it and Demerara was looking at options because there were a couple for its location.
