Hospitals under pressure

As COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to increase in Jamica, there is concern that some persons requiring a bed will face a challenge, with a number of  hospitals already almost at capacity with patients admitted for other illnesses.

Chief  Medical Officer Dr. Jacqueline Bisasor-McKenzie has revealed that St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital and Kingston Public Hospital have already utilized more than 90 per cent of  their bed capacity.

She added that hospitals in the western and southern regions are already under significant pressure as well.
