The Ministry of Tourism has provided more details on increased visitor arrivals to Kingston, particularly during the Christmas period last year.
Senior Advisor and Strategist in the Ministry of Tourism, Delano Seiveright says data so far shows near 7,000 more passengers landing at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston between December 22 and December 30, 2024 compared with the similar period in 2023.
Mr. Seiveright says around 31,646 visitors arrived at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston between December 22 and 30 last year.
The airport recorded 24,935 arriving passengers for the similar period in 2023.
Mr. Seiveright says the New Year's Eve show Freedom Street, organised by Joe Bogdanovich, accounts for a fair share of the increased numbers.
