INDECOM probing attempted murder, assault claims against two cops

By Kimone Witter

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing attempted murder and assault allegations against two police officers in relation to an incident in Mocho, Clarendon on Thursday.

The incident, which involved a 23-year-old woman, reportedly occurred at the house of one of the cops, in Goshen district.

The allegations are that the woman got into an argument with one of the policemen during which he used his hands to hit her in the face and punch her all over the body.

Another argument later developed and the policeman's brother, who is assigned to the Kingston Western Division, intervened and discharged two rounds from his licensed firearm in the direction of the woman.

She was not injured.

The complainant was taken to May Pen Police Station by one of the police officers where the incident was reported.

The May Pen Criminal Investigations Branch is also probing the matter.
