JCF and MOCA to protect key infrastructure projects from extortionists

The Jamaica Constabulary Force and Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency have been given responsibility to establish special security operations around key infrastructure projects.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness, says the aim is to ensure major projects are not hijacked by criminals seeking to illicitly benefit from public resources through extortion or holding up work schedules.

The Prime Minister made that announcement on Thursday while making his contribution to the 2023/24 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives.
