The Jamaica Teachers Association has announced that it's now in discussions with the Ministry of Education to have scores of teachers, who were prematurely sent into retirement, return to the classroom.
This was disclosed by JTA President Dr Mark Smith.
Dr Smith, speaking Sunday on the JTA's Teachers Time, on Radio Jamaica, said many teachers were sent into retirement in breach of the Pension Act of 2017
He added that, while there are teachers who desire to go off early, many of the early retirees are struggling to pay their bills and wish to rejoin the profession.
