JUTC buses still off the roads at noon on Tuesday

RJR's Prince Moore reporting at noon Tuesday

At noon on Tuesday the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) had still not dispatched any of its buses following the fatal shooting of one of its drivers the night before.

The state-run bus company was holding an emergency meeting to discuss the resumption of service.

JUTC employees are worried about their safety after the driver was shot on Oxford Road in St. Andrew.

It's believed that the incident was in retaliation for the fatal stabbing of a taxi operator on Washington Boulevard Monday night.

The taxi driver was reportedly killed during an altercation with a JUTC driver.
