Minister of Labour Pearnel Charles Jr has hailed the work of the Industrial Disputes tribunal as critical in strengthening the country's industrial relations framework.

The IDT is celebrating 50 years of existence this year, having been established in 1975 under the authority of the Labour Relations & Industrial Disputes Act.

Mr Charles, in his message to mark the anniversary, said this golden jubilee marks five decades of dedicated service to promoting and facilitating justice, fairness, and workplace harmony in Jamaica, "resolving over four thousand disputes and solidifying its reputation as 'the poor man's court.,"
