World champion Danielle Williams was one of two Jamaican winners on Saturday at the Xiamen meet in China, the opening meet of the 2025 Diamond League Season.
Williams who won the main prize in the short hurdles at the Grand Slam Track League’s first stop in Kingston earlier this month, produced a season’s best time of 12.53 seconds to win the womens 100m hurdles.
Jordan Scott was the other Jamaican winner at the meet, as he took the men's triple jump in a personal best 17.27m on his fourth round attempt.
World champion Shericka Jackson was beaten into second place in the women's half-lap event.
Jackson in her earliest 200m race since 2019, crossed the line in 22.79 seconds behind American Anavia Battle who won in a meet record 22.41. The next stop in the series will be May 3 in Shaoxing, also in China.
