Local Government Minister seeking to boost NSWMA resources

Minister of Local Government Desmond McKenzie says he will be making a comprehensive submission to Cabinet aimed at bolstering the resources of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA).

Speaking at the NSWMA annual board retreat at the AC Marriott Hotel earlier this week, Mr. McKenzie said he will be asking for increased funding for the agency to make it more effective.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting the NSWMA and ensuring that the entity is adequately equipped to carry out its work efficiently.

Minister McKenzie said since 2016, about 165 trucks have been added to NSWMA's fleet with an aim to improve garbage collection across the island.
