The police took a man into custody on Thursday following the seizure of two illegal guns and 36 rounds of ammunition in the St. Andrew North Police Division.
The man was arrested after the police intercepted his vehicle on Mannings Hill Road during an operation.
The police searched the vehicle and found the illegal guns and ammunition.
Head of Operations for the St. Andrew North Police, Deputy Superintendent Collin Mellaneis, told Radio Jamaica News the operation was part of an anti-crime crackdown in the division.
During another operation in Morgan Lane in Grants Pen, the police detained twelve people for questioning.
