Men charged for tampering with gate to Bog Walk Gorge due back in court on November 9

The two men who were charged with removing the padlock on the gate at the entrance to the Bog Walk Gorge, are to return to court on November 9.

Garth Brown, 52, and Glenroy Denton, 45, appeared in the St. Catherine Parish Court on Thursday where the case was mentioned.

The men are facing charges of conspiracy and malicious destruction of property.

They are also charged with accessory before and after the fact and breaches of the ODPEM Act after entering a Restricted Area.

The men were captured on camera attempting to pry open the gate to the Gorge after it was closed by the National Works Agency, due to flooding caused by rains associated with Tropical Storm Ian on September 26.
