NSWMA Executive Director Audley Gordon

The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has disclosed that it continues to deal with a backlog of garbage in communities across the island.
Audley Gordon, Executive Director of the NSWMA, says Manchester, Clarendon and St. Elizabeth are among the parishes with the largest backlog.
Mr. Gordon says the NSWMA has encountered a series of setbacks amid persistent rainfall between August and late November, which also affected the dirt tracks at disposal sites.
But he says the NSWMA has already cleared the Christmas waste in towns, and will work to reduce the backlog of other domestic garbage within 14 days.
