Pan Caribbean Sugar Company to withdraw from the SPF

The management of the Chinese owned Pan-Caribbean Sugar Company Limited has served notice of their intention to withdraw as a member of the Sugar Producers' Federation SPF April 1.

The move is reportedly part of a plan by Pan Caribbean Sugar Company Limited   to enter into the commercial side of sugar

In a letter to Sugar Producers' federation officials,  Deputy Chief executive Officer of Pan-Caribbean Sugar Company Limited, He Hanqi says Pan Caribbean intends to abide  by the terms  set out in a recently signed wage agreement between both parties.

The agreement was signed on February  23, 2012.

Pan Caribbean will reportedly abide by the terms  laid out in the Labour Relations Agreement until December 31, next year.

Pan Caribbean has instructed that any industrial relations issues arising at Frome, Monymusk and Bernard Lodge Estates should be sent directly  to it's offices.
