Police identify man killed shortly after arriving in the island

Detectives assigned to the Kingston East Police Division have identified the victim of Tuesday's brazen shooting incident along Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway.

The deceased is Rohan Campbell.

Investigators are still trying to ascertain Mr. Campbell's age as well as his last known address.

Police sources believe the deceased man is from a section of western Jamaica.

Radio Jamaica sources say Mr. Campbell was recently deported.

It was reported that Mr. Campbell arrived at Norman Manley International Airport on a return flight from Panama.

Investigators say people travelling in a vehicle approached the JUTA taxi in which Mr. Campbell was travelling and opened fire.

Sixteen bullet impressions were seen on the windshield and left passenger side of the vehicle.

The JUTA driver, who was frightened by the ordeal, escaped unhurt.
