The St. James police are still processing the crime scene in Providence Heights where three unidentified men were shot dead on Monday night.
The men were found suffering from bullet wounds inside a vehicle sometime after 9 o'clock.
Assistant Commissioner Clifford Chambers, head of Area One Police headquarters, told Radio Jamaica News the men travelled to the community in a Nissan AD Wagon that was used as a taxi in the Corporate Area.
"The vehicle appears to have a public passenger licence plate and it appears to ply the route in the Half Way Tree police space and it is registered to a Kingston address," he revealed.
However, it is still unclear what led to the men being shot.
