Police investigators are struggling to make a breakthrough into the murder of eight-year-old Danielle Rowe.
Danielle was taken from the Braeton Primary and Infant School in Portmore, St. Catherine on June 8 and found seriously wounded in St. Andrew.
She later died in hospital.
The police have released a composite sketch of a female person of interest in the murder.
Speaking at a ceremony to observe the National Day of Mourning for Jamaica's Children at Braeton Primary and Infant school today, Commanding Officer of the St. Catherine South Police Division, Senior Superintendent Christopher Phillips said there has been no progress in the investigation.
"I spoke with the investigators, well, one of the investigators this morning, and there is just no clear lead at this time, despite the tremendous efforts of the investigators. Nonetheless, they continue to go at it with the investigation," he admitted.
SSP Phillips again appealed for anyone with information on the incident to contact the police.
"I strongly believe that there is a friend, there is a relative, a family member who knows something," he said.
