Policeman dead following domestic dispute in Manchester

Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force are mourning the loss of a colleague following a domestic dispute in Somerset, Manchester which resulted in the death of a constable and his wife being hospitalised.
 
The deceased is 41-year-old Constable Damien Blair.
 
The incident happened at Desmond McKenzie close, more commonly known as Guava Walk, about 7 o'clock Monday evening.
 
Residents reportedly heard gunshots and called the police.
 
The police say Constable Blair's body was found on the ground outside his house with bullet wounds.
 
He also had injuries to his face.
 
Acting Assistant Commissioner Glenford Miller, head of the of Area 3 police, said the woman locked herself inside the house and did not respond to pleas for her to surrender. 
 
The police eventually gained entry to the house where she was found with her wrist slashed. 
 
She was taken to hospital and admitted in serious, but stable condition.
 
The police say a firearm and two hammers were found on the ground some metres from Constable Blair's body.
