The Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau is investigating the origin of a photograph in which two members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force are seen brandishing high powered weapons at their wedding reception in St. James.

The bride and the bridegroom are seen kissing while posing with the weapons.

Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force Corporate Communications Unit, told Radio Jamaica News that the matter has been brought to the attention of the High Command and an investigation is underway.

Security consultant Robert Finzi-Smith said the photograph which is circulating on social media is cause for concern.

He said the situation brought into focus several questions, including whether the guns were loaded during the event.

Additionally, he questioned whether the weapons were issued by the force, and if so, "When were they issued, for what purpose were they issued and how did they end up at the wedding?"

The event reportedly took place last weekend.
