Stewart Burton, 33, otherwise called 'Bing', was fatally shot by gunmen along Collie Smith Drive in the vicinity of Eight Street, sometime after 11 a.m.

It's reported that Burton was walking along the roadway when he was pounced upon by two armed men on a black motorcycle.

The men opened fire, hitting him all over his body.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident was confirmed by Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps, head of the Kingston Western Police.

He said Burton, who was linked to a gang in Top Jungle, had been on the Kingston Western police's most wanted list.

Radio Jamaica News was informed that the shooting occured in view of a group of children who were engaged in a tree planting project along Collie Smith Drive.

The children have reportedly been left traumatised by the incident.
