Security forces conducting operations after man killed and baby injured in Spanish Town

 
The police and military are carrying out operations in sections of Spanish Town, St. Catherine following a man was killed and another man and a baby injured on Featherbed Lane on Sunday night.
 
Head of Operations for the St. Catherine North Division, Deputy Superintendent Linroy Edwards told Radio Jamaica News investigators believe an internal gang feud led to the attack.
 
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Andrew Thomas of Ensom City, Spanish Town.
 
Mr. Thomas was at home with other family members about 9:15 p.m. when men entered the yard and opened gunfire hitting the child and another relative.
 
Mr. Thomas reportedly ran but was chased and shot multiple times.
 
The security forces responded to the incident and came under heavy gunfire. 
 
The gunmen escaped.
 
The injured child and the man were treated at hospital and released.
