Seven arrested and charged in Norwood ZOSO

Major General Antony Anderson

Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson has revealed that seven persons have been arrested and charged in Norwood, St. James since the declaration of the Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) on Sunday.

Three illegal firearms were seized.

During a tour of Norwood on Tuesday, General Anderson disclosed that the persons arrested were involved in criminal activities in the area, ranging from sexual offences, scamming and possession of illegal firearms.

The police commissioner expressed confidence that the security measure would continue to yield results.

"So we're continuing operations," he declared. "When we launched I think the first one, it took us 14 days to find the first weapon. So we're ahead of that curve now. The more we use these tools is the better we get at it."
