Six fold increase in COVID cases at Bustamante Children’s Hospital

As the country continues to record a spike in covid-19 cases there has been a six fold increase in infected patients admitted to the Bustamante Hospital for Children.

Radio Jamaica News has been informed that the number of  cases has moved from 23 in December to 137 as at January 17.

Some of  the children who tested positive had respiratory symptoms including cough, runny nose and fever and gastrointestinal conditions such as vomiting and diarrhoea.

Several patients also suffered neurological symptoms including fever with seizures.

It's reported that a number of  the children were found to be covid positive after being screened for medical and surgical conditions.
