St. Ann Police arrest four suspects in drug bust

The St. Ann police have arrested four persons, including two Haitian nationals, following a suspected drug bust.

The police say from 4:45 to 7 o'clock Friday morning they conducted a targeted raid on an eight-bedroom house occupied by the four in Salem, Runaway Bay.

During a search of the property, seven knitted bags of compressed vegetable matter resembling ganja were found under a bed in one of the rooms.

A further search yielded a quantity of hashish oil, counterfeit US dollar notes and a point of sale machine.

Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, head of the St Ann Police division, reported that the drugs weigh 200lbs.

He added that the Passport, Immigration & Citizenship Agency will conduct interviews with the Haitian nationals.

The police say all four accused will be jointly charged for the find, believed to be part of the drugs for guns trade.
