Storm Bert causes major disruption in UK as clean-up begins

Hundreds of flood warnings and alerts remain in place after torrential rain and high winds from Storm Bert caused major disruption to homes, roads and rail networks in the UK.

At least three people died in the storm that struck much of the country over the weekend and prompted criticism about a lack of preparation and insufficient warning for the severe weather.

A major incident has been declared in Northamptonshire, the only place still under a severe flood alert, as a holiday park has been submerged for the third time this year.

Residents of flood-hit areas have been left with major clean-up jobs, with one business owner telling the BBC her store had been devastated.
