The Bahamas reaffirms commitment to One China policy

The Bahamas has reiterated its commitment to the One China policy.

Nassau says it is encouraged by continued dialogue and support on mutual areas of interest both bilaterally and multilaterally with China.

The Bahamas and China established diplomatic relations on May 23, 1997.

The One China principle is the position held by the People's Republic of China and the ruling Chinese Communist Party that there is only one sovereign state under the name China.
