The Ministry of Education has dispatched a trauma team to provide counselling at the Maldon High School in St. James following the fatal stabbing of a student on Tuesday.
It is alleged that Grade nine student, Romario Salmon, was stabbed by one of his schoolmates.
Education Minister Ronald Thwaites says although the incident occurred off the school compound, anti-social behaviour by students continues to be a cause for concern.
He says the incident will propel the Ministry to intensify the implementation of behaviour management programmes in schools.
