Trinidad and Tobago closes two police buildings over coronavirus concerns

Trinidad and Tobago's Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has ordered the closure of two police buildings in the capital amid reports that an individual with the coronavirus went to the locations.

A police statement said there were unconfirmed reports of an employee of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service exhibiting flu-like symptoms at the workplace.

The statement said the buildings will remain closed for the rest of the day to facilitate sanitisation.

Meanwhile, the number of persons who have contracted the virus in Trinidad and Tobago rose to 153 on Tuesday, after the Ministry of Health said five additional persons had tested positive.

It said three of the cases were imported from Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana and Vietnam.
