The two men who were charged by the St. Elizabeth Police for several offences, including murder, were denied bail when they appeared before the St. Elizabeth Parish Court on Thursday.

They are 35-year-old chef Sean Reid, otherwise known as 'Sogie', and 30-year-old electrician Ramanni Smile, otherwise known as 'Smile' or 'Little Smiley'.

They are scheduled to appear in court again on December 9.

Both men from Knock Patrick in Manchester are charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, illegal possession of ammunition, murder, robbery with aggravation and conspiracy to commit murder.

They are charged with the murder of 62-year-old businessman Aggery Atkinson, of Balaclava, on October 19 during a robbery at a business place in Maggotty.

The two were arrested on November 1 during an operation by the St. Elizabeth Police at Gutters in the parish.

It was revealed in court that in a caution statement, Sean Reid admitted to being involved in the robbery which led to the death of the businessman.

Mr. Reid has also been put before the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court on charges of possession of prohibited weapon and illegal possession of ammunition and robbery arising from an incident in Santa Cruz two years ago.
