By Kimone Witter

Two men were killed by gunmen on Monday night in Bamboo Walk, St. Mary.

They have been identified as 22-year-old Trevan Davis and his 33-year-old cousin, Odane Edwards, both from the community.

The men were outside a shop about 9:30 when men travelling in a Toyota Probox opened fire at them.

They were pronounced dead at hospital.

Edwards' mother, Marlene Davis, says he was to leave on Wednesday for Canada, where he resides, after spending several months in Jamaica visiting his children and relatives.

She says the family is traumatised and confused by the killings, as both her son and nephew were two quiet individuals.

St. Mary has recorded 45 murders since January.
