The JSE Index declined by 3,003 points, while the Junior Market Index declined by five points.
The 44 advancing stocks were led by Productive Business Solutions USD shares, Sygnus Credit Investments 8 per cent preference share, R.A. Distributors, 138 Student Living and JPS 7 per cent preference share.
Fifty-one shares declined including ISP Finance Services, Massy Holdings, Spur Tree Spices, and Eppley 7.25 per cent preference shares, and First Rock Real Estate Investments USD shares.
Sixteen stocks traded firm.
