The Westmoreland Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who is suspected to have perished in a house fire in Bedwood Lane, Smithfield, on Sunday.
He has been identified as a Tajoe Robinson, a caretaker of a Smithfield.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that about 11.47 p.m., residents saw Mr. Robinson's house engulfed in flames and alerted the authorities.
Following cooling down operations by members of the fire department, the charred remains of Mr. Robinson were found.
The scene was processed and the remains transported to the morgue pending a post-mortem investigation.
