The suspect who was linked to the November 10 murder of a man in Westmoreland was captured Wednesday during an operation in the parish.
He is Nicholas Muthra, of Benta district in Whithorn, Westmoreland.
The police say Muthra was wanted for the murder of Iwayne Bennett, otherwise called 'Mad Dog', in Bastard Cedar Walk in the parish.
The JCF says his successful capture is part of Operation Reassurance, a large-scale initiative to restore order and bolster public confidence in the Westmoreland Division.
The operation was conducted by the Area One Fugitive Apprehension Team, Specialised Operations, Lottery Scamming Task Force, Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Divisional Quick Response Unit.
The police say Muthra's capture marks a significant achievement for the operation, which continues to focus on maintaining a strong law enforcement presence, addressing security concerns, and engaging with the community.
