Gunmen fatally shot 65 year old Peter Bruce, 65 a former police sergeant in, Mayo Trinidad yesterday.
Bruce retired from the T&T Police Service in 2002.
Police said at around 12.30 am, Bruce was driving his Nissan motor car when assailants opened fire from behind.
Bullets smashed the rear windscreen and right front window of the car
Bruce was shot in the back of the head and neck.
He ran off the road and crashed the car while the gunmen fled.
