Ackeem Blake secures lone Jamaican win at Swiss meet

Olympian Ackeem Blake romped to victory in the men's 100 metres at the World Athletics Continental Tour silver meet in Switzerland on Monday to secure the only Jamaican win at the meet.

Blake sped to 9.96 seconds to win the event ahead of Akani Simbine of South Africa was second in 10.04 and Cameroon's Emmanuel Essme 10.12. Tokyo Olympic champion Marcel Jacobs of Italy was 4th in 10.12.

National record holder Roshawn Clarke was 4th in the men's 400 metre hurdles clocking  49.23 seconds. The event was won by Frenchman  Clement Ducos 47.94 seconds.

He won ahead of Brazillian Allison dos Santos who was second in 48.78. Olympic finalist Orlando Bennett ended 7th in the men's 110 metre hurdles.

Bennett posted 14.01, as Frenchman Sasha Zoya won the event in 13.22. He held off Olympic and world champion Grant Halloway who finished second in 13.23.

In the field, Olympic Games bronze medallist Rajindra Campbell had to settle for sixth in the men's shot put where he threw 20.80 metres.

Olympic champion Ryan Crouser of the United States won the event with a throw of 22.25 metres
