Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Christopher Scott

Despite all the wranglings ahead of the tournament, hosts Qatar and South American outfit Ecuador will kick off the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
Ecuador will be looking to spoil a party that has been in the making for 12 years. The first match of the tournament takes place at the Al Bayt Stadium, starting at 11:00 am Jamaica time.

Hitz 92 FM will have live coverage starting with a simulcast of TVJ's pre-game show Final Whistle at 10:00 am. TVJ's post show of Final Whistle gets underway at 4:00 pm.
