Cavalier fight back to draw with Tivoli in JPL action

With the battle for playoff spots intensifying, Tivoli Gardens held defending champions Cavalier to a 1-1 draw in their Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL) encounter at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex on Thursday.  

Tivoli opened the scoring in the 43rd minute before Cavalier found the equalizer in the 88th minute through Shaquille Stein to earn a share of the points. The result meant Tivoli remained in 6th place on 47 points, while Cavalier stayed 5th 

Elsewhere, Humble Lion who are just above the relegation zone in 12th place, surprised second placed Arnett Gardens 3-1 at the Effortville Community Centre.

Humble Lion were led a double from Ricarhdo Ramsay who scored in the 13th and 53rd minutes. Deonjay Brown scored the other goal in the 77th minute.

Talisman Warner Brown scored what turned out to be a consolation goal for Arnett Gardens in the 31st minute.

9th placed Chapelton Maroons clipped hosts and 10th placed Dunbeholden 1-0 courtesy of a Nathaniel Howe 53rd minute strike.

In the late kickoff, hosts Waterhouse and third placed Montego Bay United were nil all in late second half action at the Drewsland Mini Stadium.
