Excelsior crush St Jago to win Grace Shield

Excelsior High are ISSA First Global Grace Shield champions after a crushing 420 run win over St Jago with a day to spare in the three-day final at Sabina Park.

Excelsior demolished St Jago for just 52 in their second innings in their chase of an improbable 473 for victory, with Tamarie Redwood bagging 6-16 and captain Michael Clarke snaring 3-11. Only Vitel Lawes with 16, got into double figures in St Jago's second innings.

Excelsior set up the mammoth target after posting 292-9 declared in their second innings. Player of the Match David Dewar top scored with 91, while Demarco Scott made 70. Milton Luckain took 5-122.

After resuming the day's the play on 133-8, St Jago could only manage 24 more runs as they were bowled out for 157 in reply to Excelsior's first innings 337 all out.

Milton Luckain top scored with 51 with only three other batters getting into double figures. Demarco Scott was the main man for Excelsior, taking 3 for 44. Scores in the match: Excelsior 337 & 292-7, St Jago 157 & 52.
