Five sports personalities received national honours, four of which were in the form of Order of Distinction (OD), Officer Class on the lawns of King's House on Monday. Veteran coach Neville Sinclair received his OD for distinguished contribution and dedication to the training of Jamaica’s Paralympians.
Compton Rodney, the Honorary Treasurer of the Jamaica Olympic Association who serves on the board of the Sports Development Foundation (SDF), also received an OD for long and dedicated service to sports.
Another SDF board member, Ann-Marie Heron, who previously worked as a Sports Development Officer at INSPORTS and former president of the then Jamaica Netball Association, Barbara Sinclair also collected Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer Class.
The fifth sports person to be honoured was Howard Deer who received a Badge of Honour
