Fowler-Nembhard leads Fever to victory over Lightning

World-rated Sunshine Girls goalshooter Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard was in stunning form for the West Coast Fever in round 2 of the Suncorp Super Netball League over the weekend.

Fowler-Nembhard scored 63 goals from 65 attempts including a perfect three from three from super shot range in leading her team to a convincing 81-56 victory at home over the sunshine coast lightning.

Fellow Sunshine Girl Shanice Beckford who is playing her first season in the Suncorp League, added 8 goals from 11 attempts for the fever who held quarterly leads of 20-17, 37-26 and 57- 42.

The Fever who are yet to lose a quarter in this season's competition so far, are one of only two unbeaten teams.

Another Jamaican, defender Kadian Dehaney was also a part of the Fever line-up.

Meanwhile, defending champions the Adelaide Thunderbirds with Sunshine Girls Shamera Sterling-Humphrey, Romelda Aiken-George and Latanya Wilson in their line-up, suffered a nail-biting 53-54 loss to the Melbourne Vixens.

Aiken-George had 28 goals from 30 attempts, while Sterling-Humphrey and Wilson made 6 and 5 interceptions respectively.
