Jamaica's elite athletes are at risk of not receiving global ranking points earned, or being properly credited with World Championship qualifying standards achieved at more than a dozen local development meets, which are being staged at World Athletics-approved tracks.
Correspondence sent by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) to meet organizers, a copy of which has been obtained by Radio Jamaica Sports, indicate that the JAAA should receive a written request and payment up to 70 days prior to their meet in order for the JAAA to submit them to World Athletics to be placed on its global calendar.
Among the 14 meets to find themselves on the outside looking in, was Saturday's 23rd staging of the Queen’s Grace Jackson Invitational Meet at the National Stadium.
