Inclement weather affects Manning Cup games

Poor weather hampered proceedings as rain affected a number of matches in the ISSA Manning Cup on Thursday.

Home team Jose Marti were leading Clan Carthy 2-0 after the end of the first half when officials abandoned the game due to lightning and a water-logged field.

Shemar Anchard in the 28th and Keshawn Henry in the 35th minute, got on the scoresheet for the St Catherine-based institution.

Elsewhere in Group “F” the top of the table clash between Campion College and Excelsior was also stopped due to poor weather.

The match was 0-0 in the 73rd minute when play was halted. Kingston Technical blanked Cumberland 3-0 in the only match completed in Group “F”.

In Group “C’ Charlie Smith clipped Vauxhall 1-0 in their match up.
