Jamaica beaten by Windwards at CWI Rising Star 50-over competition

Jamaica's Under-15 cricketers were humbled by seven wickets in their second round 50 over CWI Rising Star match against the Windward Islands at the Liberta Sports Complex in Antigua and Barbuda.

Sent in to bat, the Jamaicans were restricted to 193-8, thanks to a top score of 61 not out from Ryan Lyttleton.
Lyttleton hit five fours and a six in his knock which lasted 91 balls.

Opener Tyson Gordon made 51 with five boundaries, while there were contributions of 25 from captain Demario Hall and 20 from Romario Salmnon.

Three Windward Islands bowlers took two wickets apiece. The Windwards marched to 196-3 with 62 balls to spare.

Earshino Fontaine struck a classy unbeaten 93 from 129 balls to pilot the chase.

Jorden Charles was the next best contributor with 28. Lyttleton was the pick of the Jamaican bowlers with 2-28.

The Jamaicans take on Guyana in their next encounter in search of their first win after the opening match against the Leeward Islands was abandoned due to rain.

Elsewhere, Guyana brushed aside Trinidad & Tobago by 9  wickets after they were set 84 for victory.

Barbados had a comfortable 94 run win over the Leeward Islands after posting 327-4 and then restricting the hosts to 233 all out.
