Jamaica will not take part in the men's 4x400m relay at this summer's Olympic Games after the country came up shorton Sunday’s final day of the in their last ditch effort to qualify the team to Paris.
Needing to run faster than 2 minutes, 59.12 seconds to edge out Zambia for the final spot at the Olympic Games, the Jamaica Green quartet of Asinie Wilson, Anthony Cox, Demar Francis and Kemar Farquharson crossed the line in 2 minutes, 59.87 seconds.
In an effort to qualify the country for the games, the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) specially arranged the 4x400 metre relay to include three Jamaican teams plus St Vincent and the Grenadines.
