Jamaica to be represented at Winter Youth Olympics

Jamaica will for the first time have a representative at the second Winter Youth Olympic Games after Daniel Mayhew, 17 a student of Charlemont High qualified for the event.

Mayhew's historic achievement, has seen him qualifying in the Monobob, or one man sled for February's Winter Youth Olympic Games.

After 11 months in the sport of bobsleigh and competitions in Switzerland, Austria and Norway, he is ranked 22nd in the world, and will be among 15 competitors in his event at the Winter Youth Olympics from February 12 – 21 in Lillehammer, Norway, where Mayhew had his last qualifying run and his best times so far.
